Friends, Family, Colleagues, Welcome to Colossus Goes to Vegas.
In the spirit of moving out to the west coast I decided to partake in the cliche, but still awesome, tradition of a road trip. My good friend and roommate Simon also thought doing a road trip would be a good time so he quickly signed up for a spot in the car. When good times are to be had there is one member of our apartment that never likes to be left out. My over sized stuffed panda that I won from a carnie game on the infamous Wildwood New Jersey boardwalk, Colossus.
Planning for the road trip consisted of brainstorming a few places that Simon and I wanted to see and connecting the dots. This laid back planning led Simon, Colossus, and I to the ambitious task of hitting up Chicago, New Orleans, and Vegas all in one weeks time. After we figured out the route and the players in this road trip debacle, we aptly named our road trip Colossus Goes to Vegas.
Hopefully, after reading this introduction you think this trip is going to be as awesome as we do. Look back to this blog frequently because we plan updating it with our trip details over the next week and then posting multiple times during the day when we are actually on the trip. Also, comment early and comment often. We'd love to hear what you guys think about everything.

I hope Colossus is riding up front with you two! You can't see nearly as much from the back set.
Simon doesn't look nearly as excited about Colossus' presence as Eric does...
I think that would be obvious. I've seen pictures of what Colossus and Spoony do together. Unless Colossus is playing both sides of this road trip, Simon is going to be a sexiled third wheel most evenings.
That's true. Simon, I know what you're going through, I spent all of last August being the sexiled third wheel in my own apartment...don't take that panda's crap.
While in Las Vegas, you have to check out the Pinball Museum, one of the coolest litte-known gems in town. Largest collection of pinball machines in the world. Unless of course you *hate* pinball :-)

Okay. I don't know much about the places you're going to, but I can suggest - slash - throw out a few ideas that would at least be good for a picture.
1. Cornfields in Ohio
2. Thick crust pizza (giordano's?) in chi-town, plus cubs, obviously
3. Line dancing in memphis, with cowboy hats if possible
4. Shrimp/crawfish dinner in new orleans
5. Experiencing the mexican influence / hanging out in the desert / being really fucking hot in texas
6. The high life in Vegas
7. Dry river bed exploration en route to the city of angels.
8. Elbow-rubbing on Rodeo Drive to cap off the transcontinental road trip.
I'll wish I was there. More comments to come as I, no doubt, live vicariously through you. Drive safe!
OK, a couple more...
Meteor Crater in AZ on US 40. Really impressive. Also - the Grand Canyon, I know, you might think, crowded, touristy, etc. But trust me -- go! It's the most impressive natural feature I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot!
